Dethklok on Tour

The new season of Metalocalypes is under way, and so far so good. The new episodes are just as good as the first season’s. I just got done watching one of the episodes just a few minutes ago, and it was just as brutal as any episode from the last season. For my birthday one of my friends got me the entire first season on DVD, and I watched pretty much all of it that very night. I love this show. And the fact that the band Dethklok, the main characters of the show metalocalypse, made an actual album is great. And the fact that the CD is actually good is amazing. How could I possibly get more from this band. Well, I could see them live on tour.

Thats right, a fictional cartoon band is going on a live tour as part of Adult Swim’s college tour series. The band will consist of Brendon Small (series creator) on vocals and lead guitar, and Gene Hoglan (ex-Strapping Young Lad) on drums, along with two other people filling in on bass and back up guitar. They will be serving as the opening act for And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead

Unfortunatly, they will not be coming to UAF, so I am out of luck on being able to see them live, but I am excited to hear about how the shows will be performed.

The New Zunes

October 8, 2007 at 6:23 am (Uncategorized)

This past tuesday Microsoft introduced the latest incarnations of the Zune, Microsofts equivalent to Apple’s iPod. The latest version will come out with three different models, 4-gigabiyte, 8-gigabyte, and a whopping 80-gigabytes of memory. The original came out in just a 30-gigabyte model. The prices arent’t too bad either, $149 for the 4-GB, $199 for the 8-GB, and $249 for the 80-GB and are expected to go on market starting sometime in November.

I already own a Zune, so it wont be likely that I will buy one of the new versions… the only reason that would seem plausible  to buy one of the new models would be if I ran out of memory on my current model… which currently has more then enough memory left, so that option is out for now. However there is one thing that has been added to the new Zunes that really intrigues me is the cool new feature which makes it so that your Zune can automatically update music, videos, and pictures wirlessly through a WiFi network. So who knows, when I build up my music library high enough, I may end up having to upgrade to an 80-GB Zune, but only time will tell.
